Inspired by the vast American plains, Secrets of the Bison centers on the quiet strength and dignity of the American bison. The design references a pivotal moment in history—October 3rd, 1876—acknowledging the near-extinction of the species and its deep cultural significance.

Drawing influence from the dioramas of the American Museum of Natural History, the artwork weaves together hand-laboured American folk art motifs, including weathervanes, carved decoys, and hand-painted Parcheesi boards from the Civil War era. These elements are layered with symbolic flags and emblems traditionally found in fraternal societies, re-imagined here as symbols of reverence for the natural world.

Key motifs include the Eye of Providence, the beehive representing collective responsibility, the tent symbolizing protection for all species, and two pillars signifying the strength and stability required to safeguard the earth.

Crafted from luxurious 14 momme silk twill, this classic square scarf has a soft drape, subtle sheen, and rich depth of color. Each piece is finished with expertly hand-rolled edges, a hallmark of enduring craftsmanship.
